Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact me  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The number of lessons needed differs per person. On average, those who  pass their tests have had around 50 hours of professional training and  25 hours     of private practice. Your instructor is the best person to advise on  whether you are ready to take a test.

  • your UK driving licence
  • your theory test pass certificate, if you have it
  • a face covering(for exeption check online)
  • Your test will be cancelled if you come for your test without a face  covering and you did not say that you could not wear one when you booked  it.
  • a car - most people use their driving instructor’s, but you can use your own car if it meets the rules

A face covering  is something which safely covers the nose and mouth. You can buy  reusable or single-use face coverings. You may also use a scarf,  bandana, religious garment or hand-made cloth covering but these must  securely fit round the side of the face.

You will need to wait at least three clear working days before you are able to re-book your Theory Test.

If you failed your test and want to resit for another test, You have to choose a date at least 10 working days away(you don't neet to wait 10 days to book it online).

Any person with a valid driving licence issued in their country of origin is permitted to drive in the United Kingdom for at least 12 months from the date of entry. After this period, you will need to exchange your documents for a UK licence, or pass the DVSA's UK driving test.

Find out if you can drive

From 1 January 2021, you might need what is called an International Driving Permit (IDP) to drive in some European countries.

The current pass mark for learner car drivers in Great Britain is 43 or more out of 50.
For the Hazard Perception section of the test, you need to score 44 out of 75.
The current pass rate is only 47.3%, meaning that over half of everyone who takes the Theory Test WILL FAIL!
This is why it's so important to thoroughly revise and practise!

Contraflow system

A contraflow system is where traffic is directed in the opposite direction than it would normally flow. The clue is in the name with “contra” meaning against and “flow” meaning the movement of traffic. You'll often find temporary contraflow systems when there's roadwork’s,they can be permanent for bus or bicycle lane.

With flow system

If contraflow means going against the traffic, then with-flow simply means travelling in the same direction as normal traffic.
